News from the Jaegerthal

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I hope you are all well, in these changing times, day by day.

It has been quite a while since my last email with information on the current situation and changes in the Jaegerthal.

With today’s letter, which I usually send out between the years, I would like to offer you the opportunity, in the pre-Christmas period, which is once again so sad this year, to bring yourself up to date with regard to the events and changes at Domaine Jaegerthal and to send you a short review of the year 2021. With these impressions, I would like to send you a little light of hope.

In particular, the adjusted travel behaviour, but possibly also the changed awareness of our homeland and nature, contributed this year to the fact that the guest houses were in greater demand than the years before. Thus, despite all the restrictions, the demand is always surprisingly high.

The park of Domaine Jaegerthal has developed to our liking with its solitary trees planted this year, with the orangery and various other changes. Some changes are obvious at first glance, while others are so inconspicuous that they are only perceived subconsciously as a change or enrichment. A particular highlight remains, of course, the orangery, which has now been electrified and will soon be heated by an antique cast-iron stove. From next year onwards, it will also be possible to rent the rooms on a daily basis for special occasions for our guests.

In order to share the changes that have taken place this year with you even better, we have revised the website of Domaine Jaegerthal. In addition to new video films, you will find many new photos of the guest houses, the park, as well as our trees, as I also use or plant them in the gardens of my clients. New and changed are also the impressions on the theme “Gardens that bear my signature” | solitary trees”.

I would be delighted if the new website also inspires you and you succeed in immersing yourself in the special atmosphere of this gem. For me, after more than 25 years, it is still one of the most magical places I know; a place where I can live out my creativity and which I simply love.

In order to preserve the magic of this place, it is important to me to leave the guesthouses to people who share my passion for the “beautiful and special”. Those who know Domaine Jaegerthal know about my love for nature and my passion for unusual gardens and special trees. You too can enjoy this magic. Take some time and let yourself be transported to another world by unique impressions on the new site. Friends of unusual gardens will also find inspiration and can see how I transform what could be a very ordinary garden into a living work of art.

For the Hamburg lovers among you, a charming flat in an old building (72 sqm) in the heart of Eimsbüttel will be available for rent in the future. You can find more information on the newly designed website.
Furthermore, I offer all bonsai enthusiasts who no longer have the strength or time to care for their trees

have offered to leave them permanently to the Bonsai Senior Citizens’ Residence at Domaine Jaegerthal. You can find information on this here.

However, there is still a small drop of bitterness for the year 2022.

Due to the continuing rise in energy prices and higher ancillary wage costs, it is unfortunately not possible for me to maintain the rental prices as in the past 15 years. Therefore, I ask you to take note of the new prices valid from 2022. Furthermore, due to a change in the letting agency, the calculation of occupancy has also changed slightly. On the price calculator you can always see and calculate the exact rental price with the desired number of persons. Of course, you may continue to contact me personally and directly to find a suitable solution for your stay. Thank you for your understanding!

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas, beautiful moments with people dear to you, and a healthy and happy New Year 2022.

We look forward to welcoming you here in the Jaegerthal, as our guests or as garden lovers.

Kind regards Michael W. Veith
