Country house, forester’s house or small castle – until recently, the Maison Forestière was used by Princesse Claude de France as a hunting lodge when the traditional driven hunts took place in the picturesque mixed forests of northern Alsace. Located in the middle of the Parc Naturel Régional des Vosges, the Maison Forestière is state-of-the-art (WiFi, alarm …) and can accommodate up to 8 people.
Here you have the opportunity to cook, enjoy, feast, read, write, hike, relax and feel good; it is simply ideal to unwind. Everyone who is looking for peace and quiet can get their money’s worth here.
In the immediate vicinity is the Bitche Golf Club, which is known to die-hard golfers, and if you want to go horseback riding, you will find this opportunity at the riding stables in Obersteinbach and in the neighboring towns of Niedersteinbach and Lembach you will find two Alsatian restaurants that are well known beyond the national borders – the Cheval Blanc’s

The first time I visited this romantically situated house, I felt its consistently positive energy.
The friendly, bright rooms, the old wooden floors, the still hand-made staircase; everything radiates cosiness and warmth and captured me from the start. Maybe it’s just the infinite silence and the deserted environment that make this property so magical and unique.
The daily visit of the deer and of course the tawny owl enthroned in the hat of the chimney and apparently overseeing everything definitely contribute to this impression.

The garden merges almost without limits into nature; even deer sometimes come to the door. Experience unforgettable moments in the midst of nature. It couldn’t be nicer for four-legged friends either – hiking, romping, swimming in the pond and then enjoying the evening with masters, mistresses or the family in front of the crackling open fire and dreaming of the eventful day.
It’s a downright magical place; a place for people who have the ability to perceive and absorb.
I couldn’t have wished for a nicer and more suitable addition to my “Maison de la Turbine” and “Maison d ́Ecole” in the nearby Jaegerthal.
Visiting the Domaine Jaegerthal is only possible by appointment!

Dogs at Domaine Jaegerthal:

Well-behaved and socialised dogs are welcome guests in our guest houses, after consultation. In order to avoid conflicts with other guest dogs or their owners, please indicate the number and breed of dogs travelling with you when making your reservation. Please understand that in our holiday flat “Ott” and in the “Bel Etage im Maison d’Ecole”, we only accept one dog at a time. Exceptions only after consultation!
