La Maisonette de la forge – the little house at the forge

In the middle of the sleepy village of Jaegerthal, this charming Alsatian house is located close to the ruins of the former forge “de Dietrich”. It was from here that the steel industry took its course more than 350 years ago. The half-timbered house, framed by the two canals of the Schwarzbach, is thus part of this industrial monument. Once this house served as a wage house; here at the end of the week the wage envelopes for the employees of the forge were paid out.

This house also houses antique cast-iron stoves, an exceptional feel-good bathroom, and art and antiques. Looking out of the house, you can see the park of Jaegerthal Castle on one side and the ruins of the old forge mentioned above and the Château du Windstein on the other.
For water-loving furries, the garden is a great playground.
From here, several hiking trails lead into the surrounding area, especially to the neighboring castles.
You can simply leave the car.

Usage:

For optimal use, occupancy is planned for up to four people (two bedrooms with double beds).
A spacious yet cosy, fully equipped kitchen will allow you to cook on a large induction hob. The garden is a dream in itself.
A historic central heating system with old cast iron radiators is available for heating; in addition, especially in the transitional period, the antique cast iron stoves can be used for heating.

Prices and an always up-to-date occupancy calendar for this guest calendar can be found here.
