What our guests say

We recently stayed at the Maison Forestière for the second time with a couple of friends and our dog, and we'll be booking a third right away, as this gem, secluded in the forest, has touched all of our souls in a way that few other places have been able to. From our first arrival, we were simply captivated and fell in love with the house, the furnishings, the outdoor area, and the adjacent forest. The house and its furnishings have a truly unique character and are of timeless beauty. The outdoor area exudes both peace and strength and invites you to do nothing but listen to the birdsong, lose yourself in all the different shades of green, enjoy a good wine, and play with the dog—and when the weather isn't so kind, you'll be happy to be able to enjoy the coziness of the interior; it's hard to say whether it's nicer to be inside or outside in the case of this property. The only downside to a stay at Maison Forestière is the inevitable farewell. The only thing that can help ease this pain is the prospect of returning and reminiscing!
This was my first time at the Jägerthal estate and I had rented the Ott apartment. I first became aware of the place through an article in my daily newspaper last year. After seeing the website, it was clear to me: I wanted to go there. Arriving, even though I'd never been there before, felt like "coming home." The key to the apartment was in the lockbox. As I opened the front door, I heard subtle music. Cleverly placed small lights were switched on throughout the house. On the kitchen table was a bowl of fruit and chocolate, as well as a fresh plaited bread.
On a notepad, I found a handwritten welcome note from Mr. Veith, at the end of which he pointed out a chilled bottle of Cremend in the fridge. Water and treats were available for my dog, Lisa. I've never experienced anything like this in a vacation home before. I felt at home from the very first moment.
The interior of the house itself is very tasteful, unique, and full of art and collectibles, which I actually only discovered little by little. There was always something new to linger on. There are hundreds of books in the rooms – you can't possibly take it all in in a week. The kitchen lacks nothing – everything is of very high quality and there is more than enough. The garden and park are a dream and invite you to continually discover new, beautiful places to relax or read.
I could write so much more – but going there and experiencing it is definitely better.
Mr. Veith is a very pleasant and cultured person and host. Thank you very much for allowing me to see the hunting lodge – a dream in the middle of the forest.

A coincidence on a hiking day in Jägerthal brought my wife and I into contact with the host M.V. for the first time. directly at the Maison Forestiere Fischeracker (MFF). Our 20-minute “small talk” in the middle of the forest led to a tour of his unique objects just a few days later.
We were very impressed by the personal tour, including the two well-socialized furry friends. We spontaneously decided to book the MFF. My wife and I - after years of longing for this object that we have known for a long time - have now had a dream come true...
Our expectations were very high, but above all - it was truly all worth it. What would we like to say about this wonderful place and this traditional top property?
It's very simple: the location is absolutely solitaire and quiet and without any "foreign" light pollution in the evening. The stylish furnishings, equipped with modern art from the region, are fantastic and guarantee a sense of well-being. Like the host, we also recommend doing your grocery shopping in the immediate area. The regional bakeries, butchers and cheese shops as well as the fish from the supermarkets bring the Alsatian/French flair from the nearby markets directly to the MFF, i.e. into the kitchen, on the grill, on the table and into your stomach! What is also remarkably important for us as Baden-Baden water specialists is that we have our own “naturally soft” spring water of the highest quality!
However, if you don't feel like looking after yourself, you will find great places in the immediate vicinity (5-10 minutes by car).
We also recommend the top culinary references in the immediate area..... some of which we have admittedly known from our own experience for years!
In short => The body, the mind and the soul are inspired and satisfied just by “existing” here in the MFF. Every stay here is guaranteed to create bliss and salvation!
Ergo....Just come here....see, feel, hear, taste, smell and/or everything together. What more could anyone want? Experience and enjoy all of this "in pure nature" paired with a perfect and historical ambience?....yes, that's what makes it special....where fox and hare actually say good night to each other and all this right in the triangle of 3 hunting leases....Exactly at the MFF!
As Paulchen Panther always said at the end.....it's not every day....We'll be back without question.
Thank you very much for the great time and the perfect peace and quiet in the middle of nature!

An absolutely magical place! We spent a few unforgettable days in the Maison Forestière at Domaine Jaegerthal - in the middle of nature, surrounded by forests and absolute peace. The house is furnished to a high standard, but is incredibly comfortable - a perfect balance of style and feel-good atmosphere.
Our dogs were also enthusiastic and were able to enjoy nature to the fullest. We would particularly like to highlight the fantastic local cuisine and the host, who with a lot of heart, attention and hospitality ensured an all-round successful time.
A place to slow down, recharge and simply enjoy. There really isn't a better way to spend your vacation. We'll definitely be back!

We have already spent our holidays at Domaine Jaegerthal several times. We have now visited each of the guest houses and find them all simply fantastic. Each one is designed with a lot of style and attention to detail - you immediately feel at home there. All accommodation is truly exceptional and the gardens provide fantastic retreats in all seasons.
Northern Alsace with its beech forests and castle ruins is a true paradise for hikers and nature lovers. The host takes extremely good care of his guests and ensures that nothing is missing. We can't wait to come back!

We have been going to Domaine Jaegerthal at least once a year for several years now, it is always a relaxing and energizing holiday in a magical place.
We know all the guesthouses and can't decide which one is the nicest. All are furnished with a lot of style and attention to detail - you immediately feel at home. These are not your usual holiday apartments as we usually know them. The gardens (the host's great passion) offer wonderful places in every season.
The region is wonderful for hiking with its beech forests and castle ruins. There are great supermarkets, bakers, butchers and first-class restaurants in the immediate area.

We are already looking forward to the next time!

The park, the holiday apartment and the surrounding area - the Domaine Jaegerthal is fantastically beautiful. During my first tour of the extensive garden, I had to pinch myself a few times to make sure I wasn't dreaming.
The host Michael W. Veith has created something magnificent here and breathed new life into a historical ensemble.
We would like to thank you for a great stay and the great hospitality

Wonderfully relaxing holiday in an impressive garden environment. The holiday home is also very nicely and stylishly furnished. We didn't miss anything here, including the kitchen. It definitely wasn't our last vacation in the location...
