Enjoy your vacation or your stay in my “little paradise”.

The Domaine Jaegerthal is located in the town of the same name in northern Alsace, only a few kilometers from Niederbronn les Bains, Bitche and Lembach. The romantic property with the guest house – once the old village school – and the turbine house (I call it the mill) is picturesquely framed by the Schwarzbach and its pond and has an almost paradisiacal character. Not only my guests, I also find peace here from the fast-paced everyday life, which has made the domaine my refuge and is my unique source of strength to this day.

The former parish and school house “Maison d’ Ecole” from 1854 was completely renovated in 2005 and with mainly old building materials to become today’s guest house with its cozy holiday / guest apartment “Ott” and the more elegant “Bel Etage”, the larger one Area in the Maison d’ Ecole remodeled.
The individual furnishings with selected antiques also contain modern aspects and “should make my guests and customers feel at home with me! My passion for contemporary art is reflected in many corners of the entire domain in addition to my responsibility towards traditional family objects. The spacious, park-like outdoor area – the calling card of my work – invites you to linger and relax!

Your host

The Domaine Jaegerthal is also for me “Michael Veith” a magical place where I can let my creativity run free, it is my source of strength and think tank. This is where most of my gardens are created, this is where I receive my customers, discuss the ideas I have worked out and let my visitors share in my love for nature.

Film and photo backdrop

My Maison de la Turbine – alias Mill – with its extensive park and unique orangery is ideal for an extraordinary film and photo backdrop. The elegant, former school and parsonage, as well as the former hunting and forest house of a noble family in the middle of nature offer a very special charm and unimagined possibilities.

The steel dynasty “de Dietrich” had its origins here more than 350 years ago.
In what is now the park of Domaine Jaegerthal, the first blast furnace and a small hammer from the company de Dietrich were located until the end of the 19th century.

Concerts and events

With the temporary art exhibitions, summer festivals and the show garden of the Domaine Jaegerthal, the hamlet “Jaegerthal” developed into a cultural gem. For more than three years now, concerts, opera performances and theater events have also taken place during the summer months in the old forge “Forge du Jaegerthal” dating back to 1684.

The park of the Domaine Jaegerthal, or rather the spacious garden, with its old trees flows smoothly into the adjacent forest.

When designing this, my garden, the focus was on respecting, taking up and skillfully underlining the realities of nature. In my opinion, I have succeeded in underlining these conditions through targeted garden design. Solitary trees from well-known tree nurseries complete the picture and give the park its very special touch. Here you can discover trees that I also use in my customers’ gardens. Some people don’t believe their eyes!

Festivities

Are you planning a family celebration, a company event, a seminar or a small symposium?

Our charming orangery is embedded in nature in a picturesque way. It is located in the natural park of Domaine Jaegerthal on the banks of the Schwarzbach, which crosses the area romantically. From a cultural and historical point of view, this place is very special, as the origin of the iron ore dynasty “de Dietrich” lies here. This glass house is available for rent exclusively to our house guests for special occasions.

The park and the orangery offer artists an ideal exhibition space. Changing exhibitions and vernissages present, in addition to my private collection, art for the house and garden.

A tree of life goes on a journey

A dream tree for the park of Domaine Jaegerthal

My enthusiasm and love for large and even larger trees is well known. It is also known that my passion is to change the park of Domaine Jaegerthal from time to time, to beautify it and to enrich it with beautiful trees. A 45-year-old, 12-meter-high tree of life (thuja) found a beautiful, exposed place in the park of Domaine Jaegerthal.

Surrounding area

In the northern Alsace region, which is largely untouched by tourism, nature and a unique landscape characterise the landscape. A true paradise for nature lovers, hikers, climbers, anglers and golfers. On almost every second mountain you will find a castle, ruins or an impressive rocky landscape. For golf enthusiasts in particular, the region offers a diverse selection of beautiful courses

Gardens and trees that bear my signature

Planning and realizing gardens means pure creativity and is my passion. In my opinion, a garden should actually grow, which cannot be accelerated with a lot of money, time pressure or even power. It is particularly important to me that the project to be implemented appeals to me and that I get a free hand from the client so that I can live out my creativity. The most exciting gardens, yes, true works of art, come about when people trust me in terms of my creativity. Specifications or unfounded price negotiations are often counterproductive and repeatedly cause me to reject even very attractive projects.

My gardens are not created on the PC; my ideas mature with every visit and inspection of the garden to be designed, whereby the discussions with the customers are just as important. No matter how big the building project is, I always put myself in the role of my client and plan a garden as if it were my own. Based on the ideas put on paper, living works of art are created in collaboration with a professional horticulturist of my choice.
